Tuska Open Air Metal Festival 2013

First all, please excuse me for the long absence. It was not really planned, I've just been working, thesisizing and sleeping. But I've had some time for fun as well :)

Tuska Open Air Metal Festival is a summer tradition for me and my high school friends. We've been going to the festival for years and this year was no exception.

We missed seeing most of the bands of Saturday, since we were hanging around at the beer garden, but here's Testament. 

I remember these guys from when I was in middle school, so they've been around for ages.

Sunday's headliner was without a doubt Nightwish.

All in all an awesome metal-filled weekend, can't wait for next year's Tuska!

Tuska Open Air Metal Festival 2012

For the past 10 years I've gone to Tuska Open Air Metal Festival almost every year. It's the kind of festival I like; kickass metal music, awesome people and best of all, it's in the city of Helsinki, so I can go home to sleep in my own bed :D I've never been much of a stay-in-a-tent kind of girl when it comes to music festivals. I just like a comfortable bed way too much and I don't like people falling on/puking in my tent. So Tuska is perfect for me. This year was special, since it was husband's first Tuska experience. And I hope it won't be the last, since he did, after all, marry a metal head Finnish girl :)

P*ssed off country chick music

Last night was the 47th Annual Academy of Country Music Awards, did you guys watch it?
It might or might not come as a surprise that I kinda love country music :) I might not want to be associated with the political agendas of some country musicians, but I still love the tunes! I'm especially fond of the "p*ssed off country chick music" as I heard someone put it :) I enjoy listening to the likes of Miranda Lambert and Carrie Underwood. Here are some of my favorites:

Besides country, I love classic rock and actually all sorts of other genres. I'm a huge metalhead too; I'm super excited to go to Tuska Open Air Metal Festival in Helsinki this summer! Tuska has been on my summer to-do list for ages and I've gone almost every summer I've been in Finland.
